The Top 5 Best Things to Do in Kansas City
Located in dead center America, Kansas City was a trip I never thought I’d take – but I’m so glad I did.
I wasn’t certain what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of fun we ended up having in this city. Every corner there was something new to see and experience.
From local recommendations to tourist hot spots, here are my top 5 favorite places to visit while visiting Kansas City…
1. Power and Light District
Easily the top of my list, this vibrant location resides in downtown Kansas city. It features several live music venues of local and touring artist performers.
There are a number of bars and night clubs in this area that offer a wide variety of atmosphere anywhere from country bars, tropical bars, bougie and laid-back sports bars.
The Power and Lights district hosts several events and festivals throughout the year, including concerts, food festivals and holiday celebrations.
Check out their website to see if anything is happening during a week you’d like to visit.
It’s a very different atmosphere when you visit during the day vs. the night.
We showed up in the afternoon to grab dinner and watched as the lights took over the arena!
Opting for the country bar, it was one of the funnest nights of the trip. Bull riding, line & swing dancing were some of the crowd favorites.
We toured around to check out the other bars and while they weren’t are preferred scene, it was clear that the Power Lights Districts offers an environment for everybody.
2. Visit the Breweries
Kansas City has some of the best bar food and beer I’ve had in a long time and craft beer is kinda a big deal here.
We stopped at Boulevard Brew Co. to try some of their famous craft beers that did not disappoint.
One of my favorite surprises however was the amount of artwork featured in this Beer Hall.
I always appreciate when more than just what you came for is being offered. The artwork around the restaurant/bar was created by local artists.
I purchased a print of one of the craft beers I liked from this brewery. I fun way to take home a memory of the trip!
3. Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que
