3. Visit Hearst Castle

Just 15 minutes north in San Simeon sits the iconic Hearst Castle.

Touring the estate gives you a glimpse into California’s opulent past – Roman pools, European art, and panoramic ocean views.

It’s one of the most unique attractions on the entire Central Coast. You can even spot Zebra grazing in the fields below the property.

4. See the Elephant Seals

A little farther north is the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery, where hundreds of elephant seals gather along the shore.

It’s free. It’s wild. And it’s one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences in California.

We saw what seemed like hundreds, maybe even up to a thousand elephant seals all basking in the sun along the coastline. Their roars were incredible and we witnessed some of the largest wild animals we’ve ever seen in our lives.
